Updates!
Well so far so good the editing process is chugging steadily along and I am prepping a script for voice over and ADR work.
Currently I am planning on the voice over's for Timrek (Cris Mertens) and Oznog (Zach Beckler) and organizing several people to come in to do group noises for both the killing of the Sage and PHISH.
I may have to ADR a few lines of dialogue when the Resistance meets with the Sage there were a ton of planes flying over and as we find the best performance some of them had planes over the dialogue.
So that is where we're at right now I'll update again after ADR happens!

Production!
Production went amazing! There were a few snafu's that came up up but we were able to do some story editing on the fly.
Actors had changed their availability and for story reasons we changed where they met up with the group and where they died. It worked out well because it just shifted around the minor characters death and reassigning lines. We also got rid of a puppet character (who had no lines).
Day 1 on the sound stage went amazingly well. Set up was a breeze and out art team and lighting crew were able to get out of there by 8ish with the set 90% done and lighting 80% done.
Day 2 we had a few kinks in our production. One of our leads misread the call sheet and went to the UCF main campus sound stage. Which turned out to be a blessing because it took a little longer to finish up the lighting set up of placing Christmas lights in the columns. After shooting began it went quickly and very well. We were able to make our day and produce some amazing shots!
Day 3 was a wonderful shot day because of the D2 screener. We started off with wrapping up our main sound stage set and then moved on to the tunnel. This was a challenge because I had a lot of coverage inside the tunnel and wanted to shoot shoot shoot, but I had to break the actors out because they were on their knees all day (with knee pads though). The actors worked through this and we wrapped on time and even with adding a blood effect. Clean up was a breeze dissembling the set was simple and the D2 screener was fantastic.
Day 4 the first day in the field. We had a major fuck up with call time on one actor forcing another story edit on the fly. Thankfully my Producers had arranged for my art department to be setting up both our sets one right after the other so they were set before camera even arrived. We then moved in camera for our most difficult shots/scene of the shoot: Gaia being rescued. We had some major delay and started shooting much later than originally anticipated. The dolly shot took longer to set up with the puppets involved. After getting there the blocking went very quickly and we were able to go through shots very quickly. This scene took the majority of the day but we were able to still get three more scenes done but had to move one scene to the next day which had been very light anyways.
Day 5 the final day. We had been able to plan spectacularly for our last day getting off our day for night shots quickly before our second actor arrived (yeah for having good call times!). We then moved to another amazing set near the river on the preserve. The walk and talk here was wonderful. All morning while we had been filming Art Department had been building the Sage's Hut so when we finished at the river we just walked over and there it was built and ready. Filming the sage's hut was a bit colmplicated between line mess ups and planes it made getting the most dialogue heavy scene a huge challenge. We got it done and moved onto the last planned shot and finished with plenty of sun. With all this sun and actors willing we walked around with our leads and got some random walking shots of them going through woods and tall grass and even just goofing around which I feel will add a lot to the film. Everything was finished with no injuries and awesome footage in the can!
Overall I feel we had an amazing set with two great Producers helping me bring my project to life. Chris and I have some nature wides (no actors just nature) that we'd like to get and depending on how the final scene cuts together we may need to re-shoot John's reaction to Oznog dying because after we shot this scene with story changes these two built a stronger relationship.
Now onto post production! All the sound has been synced and handed off to the editor Jon Strong on Friday and he is cutting a trailer for class on Wednesday to share our success with the class.
Most importantly of all I want to thank my crew, you were all amazing and without everyone of you I couldn't have made this film! Thank you,
~Alex

So this week leading up to production starting is crazy we have costuming meetings all weekend to get costumes for the human actors as well as working on puppets to make our goal of 25.
So with this week prepping our equipment and finalizing the small details.
